Backlight Updates

New updates are available for Backlight and its add-ons. These generally qualify as maintenance releases, and address issues and bugs that have arisen in our forums since last release.

Here’s what’s new:

Backlight + Pages 1.2.2 Release 2

  • Adds breakpoint for breadcrumbs gutters.
  • Adds “clearfix” class to blog posts’ ARTICLE element.
  • Adds Minimum Cell Padding slider for album set templates.
  • Adds support for watermarks saved in Catalog.
  • Applies variable gutters values to mastheads under breakpoint.
  • Applies button background-color and color CSS properties to the “stacked-widget” class list-items in the top pallet.
  • Changes ‘list-style-position’ property to ‘inside’ for LI elements.
  • Fixes breakpoint for body’s padding-top, off by 1-pixel.
  • Fixes undesired white-space between elements due to inline styling within the widget container.
  • Fixes next/previous buttons displaying on single-image pages when there is no next or previous image.
  • Fixes widget titles not inheriting pallet color.
  • Fixes z-positioning issue causing content to overlap the top pallet in Firefox at mobile display sizes.
  • Fixes error when search results include albums that are linked to non-existent parent Album Sets.
  • Purges search album results for albums found in the database but not found on disk.

To update from Backlight + Pages 1.2.2 to Backlight + Pages 1.2.2 Release 2 :

IMPORTANT : Do NOT replace the entire backlight directory! Doing so will remove ALL data and settings!

Remove and re-upload the following files and directories:

  • backlight/publisher/
  • backlight/modules/pangolin-album/
  • backlight/modules/pangolin-album-set/
  • backlight/modules/pangolin-page/
  • TTG-Publisher.lrplugin

Clear the Designer Template Cache by visiting Backlight => Designer => Templates => Clear Template Cache

To update from earlier versions of Backlight+Pages to Backlight+Pages 1.2.2 Release 2, please follow the instructions for the first 1.2.2 release.

Cart Add-on 4.1.3

  • Updates the client-facing “view downloads” to use responsive table.

To update to Cart 4.1.3, if not already updated, update Backlight to 1.2.0 or newer.

Replace the following files and directories:

  • backlight/modules/module-cart/

Login to Backlight and click on ‘Cart’ to update the database.

Theater Add-on 1.2.3

  • Adds breakpoint for breadcrumbs gutters.
  • Improves x-translation of Vegas slideshow controls when opening the side pallets.
  • Updates styling of Vegas Slideshow controls.

To update to Theater 1.2.3, replace the following files and directories :

  • backlight/modules/pangolin-theater/

Clear the Designer Template Cache by visiting Backlight => Designer => Templates => Clear Template Cache

WordPress Add-on 1.2.3

  • Fixes localization strings for search form.
  • Fixes the search handoff button not being available for WordPress localization.

To update to WordPress Add-on 1.2.3, upload the following files and directory:

  • backlight/modules/pangolin-wordpress/

In Backlight’s admin, go to Designer => Templates, then click the name of your theme template. On the subsequent page, click “Export Theme” to update your theme in WordPress.
