Hey ya’ll, we’ve got ya some fresh, new Backlight 2 for the futuristic year 2020! Backlight 2 update 2.0.13 is now available to install, as well as updates for the Cart, Client Response, and WP Theme add-ons.

This update is both substantial and important. We’ve added support for the newly released PHP 7.4, ensuring longevity and health for your websites in our new present-day future times!

We’ve also expanded our features for GDPR and privacy compliance! Cookies notices have been in Backlight for a while now, but have now expanded their embrace to include WordPress themes generated by the WP Theme add-on. We’ve also added GDPR notices to submission forms for the Client Response and Cart add-ons. These notices are customizable from Backlight’s “Languages” screen, and we recommend that you set up a Privacy/Terms pages somewhere on the site that you can link to from within those notices. Please consult your local guidelines to ensure compliance for your business!

Order invoices from the Cart Add-on are more informative, now including both order ID and date.

Finally, we’ve put some work into better handling image downloads across mobile devices!
